Life Goals : 5 most important areas to focus in 2021|

Goals are important to set you in the right path. It’s like a map to your destination. Without a map, you will struggle to find direction. You will lose important resources like time, money and energy. Setting goals can be a daunting task. Try to set goals in these 5 areas to jumpstart your life goals. 

Life goal 1 : Family – Nurturing relationship

Family covers all relationship such as parents, spouse, children, grandparents, etc. You can take a look in your life which relationship that you want to nurture. It can be your spouse or children. For example, set goals to have more date nights with your spouse. Set game nights or cuddling time with your children every week. Set visit parents every month.

Life goal 2 : Career – Find or develop your passion 

The Conference Board reports that 53 percent of Americans are currently unhappy at work. This means almost half of the workforce are unhappy. A survey conducted by CV-Library found that 18.7% (out of 1,200 workers) employees are unhappy because their work is boring. People are happy when there’s passion to work.

You need to find and develop the passion if you want to grow well in your career choice and ultimately achieve life satisfaction. As Steve Jobs once said, “People with passion can change the world.”

Life goal 3 : Finance – Achieve Financial Stability by budgeting

Earning and spending with no planned budgets can be a disaster. You just would not know where your money comes and goes. Have a budget. Determine your fixed expense, allocate yearly recurrence, emergency fund, sinking fund. Make sure you allocate a portion for your savings first.

Ensure that your budgeting system aligns with your other goals as well (eg : buying house or cars).

Life goal 4 : Health – Eat healthy and Workout regularly

Everyone knows this, yet about 2.8 million people are dying every year because of obesity. Start picking nutritious food and workout at least 3 times a week. Set your mind that you are going to live a long healthy life with the choice that you make now. You will not only save medical expense later but enjoy your older life too.

Life goal 5 : Personal Development / Spirituality

Usually people will make spirituality and personal development as a separate area but both can be combined because the ultimate goal is to create a better you. Increase your knowledge by reading personal development books, enrol in classes that is beneficial to your life, meditate everyday or attend mass regularly. 

What ever your choice is, make sure that it is something that will increase your inner value.


Take control of your life by writing down your goals in each of this category. Pick the first thing that comes in your mind. Helpful question to ask yourself for each category is 

Where do I see myself in the next 10 years?
