Morning is the most important time of the day because it determines how the rest of the day is going to be. If you wake up with a cluttered mind, indecisive mood and with many pending tasks to be done, your day is going to be disaster.
Beginning your day with an amazing morning routine gives you better control of your day and your life. Here are 5 great morning routine ideas that you can work on for a productive day.
1. Begin your morning routine a day before
It is called a morning routine. Why should I begin it a day before? Well, the reason is because you wake up with a clear mind, of course.
The routine that comes a day before is ‘Planning your tomorrow, today‘. Write down, urgent, pending or other tasks that you have to complete tomorrow. By doing this, you are decluttering your mind with all those tasks that has been at the back of your mind. Once you download those thoughts, you can go to sleep in peace and the next day, you wake up fresh and well prepared.
2. Waking up at the best time for you
People get intimidated with the 5AM Morning Routines that you have to follow. Truthfully, if you are not a morning person, no way you are able to wake up so early. Every individual is different. You cannot stuff this general idea of waking up early to everyone.
So, wakeup at the time that is best for you. The reason why you should pick your best time is because you know your body. If you wakeup too early, your body will rebel and the rest of your day can be disastrous.
Personally, I wake up at 6AM or 7AM. My time depends on what I have been doing the day before. What is your best time?
3. Start with Workout
This is commmon morning routine that has been suggested by everyone. I hate working out in the morning. I don’t like running, jogging or even walking for about 30 minutes. On top of that, when I don’t see any results of these workout, it makes my mood to be even worst.
Solution? Find a workout that you enjoy doing. Ask yourself, what do you hate in workout? I hated the long duration in work out. So, I found a 7 minutes workout that works wonderfully for me. I don’t give reason anymore because I know the workout is only for 7 minutes.

Please ensure that you include meditation in your morning routine. Starting your day with focused, clear and positive vibe is important in giving you the extra boost and motivation to continue your day.
There are many misconception of meditation by people. Most common one is that meditation is hard. Actually, it is not hard. There are many resources on Youtube that you can look for that you like. My favourite is 10 Minutes Manifestation Meditation.
Prioritisation is important when it comes to maintaining your sanity in the massive daily to-do list. When you prioritise your work at the start of your day, you know exactly how to execute your day well.
Prioritise your tasks with the Eisenhower Matrix which I have talked about in another article. This technique is one of the best way to identify the tasks that is most important to you.
5. Eat the Ugliest Frog
Don’t worry! I am not talking about the real frog. What I meant is ‘Do the Toughest Task first in your day’. Once you put the ugliest frog out of your side, your path towards the rest of the day clears and you will feel a great sense of achievement.
Sometimes we find it hard to eat the ugliest frog away because we fail to cut it into small pieces when eating it. Again, I didn’t mean eating the real frog… haha… The toughest task is tough because you did not break into mini task. Separate these mini tasks to complete in 3 days or a week. It is entirely up to you but make sure that you eat it daily or the ugliest frog is going to sit there and stare at you or eventually eat you up!!
You don’t have to do all of the above morning routines. To avoid overwhelming, pick the one that is best for you. Start small and you can incorporate a lot along the way. to The choice of the day being great or terrible is in your hand.
